from a NPMDT Energy Therapy Session
A session generally consists of the following:
- We will have a brief discussion to obtain your details and understand why you’ve requested a session.
- The energy treatment itself: You will be asked to lie on a massage table – or sit in a chair, fully clothed, and are free to stop the session at any point. Energy will be transmitted to you from me via my hands.
- Feedback following the session.
During the session you may sense the flow of energies as warmth, coolness, tingling or relaxation. It’s common to fall asleep or become drowsy during a treatment. This is normal and allows for healing at an unconscious level.
You may also experience some form of emotional release during a session. This may be anything from a laughing fit to tears! Again, this is perfectly normal and it’s important not to suppress it. Releasing the emotion enables healing to occur. Emotional releases may also be experienced after a treatment.
You may also experience restlessness or resistance to the energy work. It’s important to honor this, while recognizing it as a barrier that the subconscious is creating to prevent healing from occurring. It often means you need to face something or have an awareness about some deeply held belief you can move on.
Following a session, it’s very important that you drink plenty of water for several days afterwards to flush away any toxins that may have been released. Otherwise, it’s possible to experience headaches or feel very tired following an energy session. This is similar to what happens with dietary cleanses/detoxes.
You might feel an improvement immediately, or it may take several days or weeks to experience the energetic change.
